Indian rally driver Sanjay Takale has successfully completed Day 2 (Leg 2) of the Musashi Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) 2026, continuing his campaign in Thailand.
The 31st edition of the Asia Cross Country Rally is proving to be another demanding test of endurance, speed, navigation and teamwork. Following Monday’s opening competitive leg from Pattaya to Prachinburi, competitors tackled Leg 2 today from Prachinburi to Nakhon Sawan, with the rally now moving deeper into its six-day competitive schedule.
For Takale, completing the second day represents another important step in what remains a long and challenging battle. With four competitive days still remaining, the experienced Indian driver will now focus on maintaining consistency, managing the demanding terrain and extracting the maximum performance from his Toyota machinery.
The 2026 AXCR is being conducted entirely in Thailand and covers approximately 2,000 kilometres, taking competitors through a variety of demanding conditions before the rally concludes in Phitsanulok on August 15.
Takale’s participation continues to underline his position as one of India’s most experienced representatives in international cross-country rallying. He has previously delivered strong performances in the Asia Cross Country Rally, including a notable fightback with Team Toyota in 2025 that helped the team secure an overall second-place finish.
Four Days to Go
With four legs still to come, the focus now shifts towards the crucial second half of the rally.
The remaining schedule will see the competitors tackle:
- Leg 3 – August 12: Nakhon Sawan to Nakhon Sawan
- Leg 4 – August 13: Nakhon Sawan to Kamphaeng Phet
- Leg 5 – August 14: Kamphaeng Phet to Phitsanulok
- Leg 6 – August 15: Phitsanulok to Phitsanulok, followed by the ceremonial finish and prize-giving ceremony.
As the rally enters its decisive phase, Takale and Team Toyota will be aiming to stay consistent, avoid costly setbacks and continue pushing forward through the remaining stages.
