Indian karting sensation Krish Gupta demonstrated exceptional pace, determination, and resilience at the opening round of the MECO MRF SIDVIN Rotax Max National Championship 2026, securing a hard-fought podium finish after an eventful weekend.

Competing in the highly competitive Senior Max category, Krish started the weekend in dominant fashion by claiming Pole Position during qualifying, showcasing his outright speed and championship ambitions. He carried that momentum into Heat 1, delivering a commanding performance to take victory and establish himself as one of the frontrunners.

However, the weekend took an unexpected turn in Heat 2, where an unfortunate incident resulted in a DNF (Did Not Finish), dropping the talented youngster down the order and leaving him with a significant challenge heading into the final stages of the event.

Undeterred by the setback, Krish produced one of the standout performances of the weekend in the Pre-Final, storming from 12th position on the grid to finish 3rd, displaying remarkable racecraft, composure, and determination.

In the all-important Final, Krish continued his impressive recovery drive, battling through the fiercely competitive field to secure a well-deserved third-place finish, ensuring a podium result and valuable championship points from the season opener.
