: Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE) on Saturday was conferred the Best Sports Educational Institute Promoting Sports (University) award during FICCI TURF 2024: 14th Global Sports Summit here at Federation House late on Saturday.
This accolade reflects the LNCPE’s tireless commitment to fostering excellence in physical education and sports while playing a pivotal role in shaping the country’s sporting future.
A leader in advancing sports education and research in India, the institution’s remarkable achievements have been realised under the leadership of Dr. G. Kishore, Principal and Regional Director of SAI-LNCPE.
A visionary educator and administrator, Dr. Kishore has been instrumental in steering the college towards national and international recognition, ensuring its position as a frontrunner in sports education. His focus on innovation, inclusivity, and academic rigour has not only enhanced the institution’s stature but also inspired countless educators, coaches, and athletes.

LNCPE has contributed significantly to India’s achievements in sports at both national and international levels. Besides academic programmes, the college houses SAI’s National Centre of Excellence (NCOE), providing sports training schemes in the disciplines of athletics (middle and long-distance running), badminton, boxing, hockey, judo and wrestling.
LNCPE’s unique contributions include its ground-breaking online training program launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, which successfully trained more than 75,000 physical education teachers and community coaches across the nation. The college’s global collaborations further underscore its excellence. Partnerships with esteemed organizations such as the International Society for Comparative Physical Education and Sport (ISCPES) and the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE) have facilitated international research projects, knowledge exchange, and access to global advancements in sports science and physical education
