With four victories out of eight races held across back-to-back FIA European Truck Racing Championship rounds in Le Mans and Jarama, within a space of a week, Norbert Kiss moved significantly closer towards securing his third title.
The Hungarian ace started off with a third-place at Le Mans, following a three-place grid penalty that denied him pole position.
He went on to finish on the podium in the opening race of the weekend but managed to add victories in races two and three, as well as securing pole position on Saturday.
Days later, when the FIA ETRC moved to Circuito del Jarama, Kiss maintained his superb form, securing both qualifying sessions triumphs and taking two further race victories.
With Kiss looking destined to secure his third crown, the battle for second in the final standings intensifies. Sascha Lenz regained second in the standings, however in the standings is only three points ahead of 2017 titlist Adam Lacko.
Antonio Albacete is still “the best of the rest” leading the chasing pack with 147 points to his name and 16 ahead of Jochen Hahn, who took his second victory of the season at Le Mans.
Other memorable performances of the two rounds included Andre Kursim taking his second victory of the season in Race 4 at Le Mans, and 20-year-old Téo Calvet taking his maiden FIA ETRC win in the final race of the Jarama meeting.
The 2021 FIA ETRC will take place at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli from 16-17 October.
